Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation Announces Outstanding Educators of the Year

             The Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation, in conjunction with the Latino Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce the Outstanding Educators of the Year for 2005-06:

Katherine Frank, CSU-Pueblo

Linda Garcia, Risley Middle School

Anna Lozano, Peakview School

Deborah Walter, Risley Middle School.

 

These individuals were selected as Outstanding Educators because of their passion and commitment to education.

Elias, Centennial High School, Herminia Encina, Risley School, Abraham Gonzales, CSU-Pueblo, Mark Gonzales, Ben Franklin Elementary, Martina Gonzales, Risley Middle School, Deborah Griggs, Risley Middle School, Marie Harms, Carlile Elementary, Scott Herrmann, CSU-Pueblo, Mike Howrey, Morton Elementary, Aron Jones, Swallows Charter Academy, Charity L, Krow, Keating High School,  Michelle Montoya, Risley Middle School, Martin E. Quintana, Roncalli Middle School, Sandra Sammon, Fountain Elementary, Dr. Michael Wakefield.

            Educator of the Year Committee members agreed that the selection of the Educator of the Year was very difficult.  “All of the nominees deserve to be recognized for their work with our children,” said Carmen Avalos, PHEF Board member.  The purpose of this important program is to recognize the educators that go above and beyond the call of duty to provide the gift of a lifetime, an education.

            All nominees will be recognized at the Latino Chamber of Commerce luncheon scheduled for Friday, April 28 at La Renaissance Restaurant beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Reservations for the lunch may be made by calling 542-5513 by April 21.

Nominations sought for Outstanding Educators in the Pueblo Community. The Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation (PHEF) in cooperation with the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Pueblo is accepting nominations for Outstanding Educators in the Pueblo Community. Four educators will be selected to be recognized at the Latino Chambers April 28th luncheon. The nominee can be a parent, teacher, student, administrator or citizen of this community. This effort is to recognize the educators that go above and beyond the call of duty to provide the gift of a lifetime, an education.
